I decided to call it Hoverbox, because after showing it to Dustin, he said it was like a mini Lightbox. While my example is nowhere near as cool as those, it does have the same principle in mind, popping up an image without affecting a page’s layout.

Venetian classical painters had a passion for moody and tempestuous skies (just Google the Tempest by Giorgione to see one such example). I now find it hard to look at an image of Venice with a featureless sky. The sky is an essential ingredient of any memorable landscape image.
